About the role
A Senior Structural Engineer focused on rail and transit infrastructure, primarily involving bridge design and inspection.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of simple and complex fixed and movable bridges.
- Prepare detailed plans, construction documents, and technical reports.
- Perform structural design calculations and analysis.
- Develop technical specifications and bid documents.
- Conduct bridge inspections and site visits for condition assessments.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- PE license, with preference for MA license.
- At least eight years of structural engineering experience, especially in bridge design.
- Experience with conceptual, preliminary, and final design phases.
- Familiarity with FEM modeling software.
- Experience with rail clients (e.g., MBTA, Amtrak) is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
