Senior Structural Engineer

About the Role

This position provides engineering support for pipeline, compressor station, pump stations, meter facilities, and other Tetra Tech units doing power stations, data centers, and terminal/tank projects nationwide. A successful candidate will bring design engineering and technical expertise to a team of established consultants with a proven track record in the Energy Industry.

Responsibilities

  • Apply civil/structural engineering knowledge and techniques for industrial capital projects.
  • Understand civil/structural engineering design, analysis, and development of scope of work documents.
  • Occasionally visit active oil & gas sites, including climbing stairs and ladders to read meters.

Requirements

  • B.S. in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE); NCEES record preferred.
  • NCEES Professional Engineer SE qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge in the Midstream Oil & Gas industry (crude oil, refined products, CO2, NGL, wet and natural gas) is preferred but not required.
  • Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Physical Requirements

  • Constantly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Constant use of hands to keyboard, handle materials, or manipulate objects.
  • Light work that includes lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent movement to accomplish tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle several urgent tasks simultaneously with high competence and accuracy.

Work Environment

Environmental factors mostly consist of work in an indoor office setting but may include exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, variable weather conditions, outdoor work, and noise due to travel and worksite visits.

Pay

Target salary range: $120,000 to $170,000. Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including education, relevant work experience, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies.

Schedule

Full-time, exempt position. This is an in-office role based in Englewood, CO, Billings, MT, or Casper, WY. Travel: Up to 10%.
