Senior Structural Engineer
Tetra Tech Rooney, a Tetra Tech Inc. business unit that provides consulting engineering primarily to the midstream oil and gas industry, is seeking a Structural Engineer in our Englewood, CO, Billings, MT, or Casper, WY office.
About the role
This position provides engineering support for pipeline, compressor station, pump stations, meter facilities, and other Tetra Tech units doing power stations, data centers, and terminal/tank projects nationwide. A successful candidate will bring design engineering and technical expertise to a team of established consultants with a proven track record in the Energy Industry.
Responsibilities
- Apply civil/structural engineering knowledge and techniques for industrial capital projects.
- Understand civil/structural engineering design, analysis, and development of scope of work documents.
- Occasionally climb stairs and ladders to read meters at active oil & gas sites.
Requirements
- B.S. in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with minimum 5-10 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE). NCEES record preferred.
- NCEES Professional Engineer SE qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.
- Knowledge in the Midstream Oil & Gas industry (crude oil, refined products, CO2, NGL, wet and natural gas) is preferred but not required.
- Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Physical Requirements
- Constantly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
- Constantly use hands to keyboard or type, handle materials, or manipulate objects.
- Light work that includes lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds and, occasionally, up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently moving about to accomplish tasks.
- Specific vision abilities required by this classification include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
- Requires composure and ability to prioritize and handle several urgent tasks and requests simultaneously with a high level of competence and accuracy.
Work Environment
- Work is primarily conducted in an indoor office environment.
- Environmental factors may include exposure to extreme temperatures (e.g., cold, heat), fumes, variable weather conditions, outdoor work, and noise due to travel and worksite visits.
Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position. Travel is up to 10%.
Pay
Target salary range: $120k to $170k. Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
