Senior Structural Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering efforts for material handling projects from concept through final design
• Perform structural analysis and design utilizing applicable codes, industry standards, and client specifications
• Develop and review structural models and analyses using RISA-3D and other engineering software tools
• Utilize 3-D modeling and finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate structural performance and optimize designs
• Review and approve engineering calculations, fabrication drawings, and detail drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance
• Manage project schedules, engineering deliverables, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams
• Mentor and supervise a team of structural engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and professional development support
• Participate in internal and client design reviews and provide technical recommendations
• Support field activities including site visits, inspections, reverse engineering efforts, and shop inspections

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required; Master's degree strongly preferred
• Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience, preferably within industrial or material handling environments
• Strong knowledge of structural steel design, connection design, and applicable industry codes and standards
• Demonstrated experience with RISA-3D for structural modeling and analysis
• Experience with 3-D modeling platforms and finite element analysis (FEA) tools
• Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring engineering teams
• Strong understanding of fabrication and construction practices
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
