Senior Structural Engineer
About the role
TERRA Engineering, Ltd. seeks an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves applying diverse and innovative techniques, overseeing project designs, and coordinating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Participate in project proposals, client interviews, and stakeholder presentations
- Determine project team and staffing requirements
- Contribute to and supervise design concepts, studies, and design options
- Perform complex analyses and design calculations
- Document design procedures and ensure compliance with codes and standards
- Prepare and review design documents, including plans, specifications, and utility coordination
- Coordinate permit requirements and construction administration activities
- Supervise close-out documentation processes and identify lessons learned
- Create and enforce TERRA standards and guidelines
- Contribute to marketing materials and recruitment processes
- Mentor and train staff members
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field from an ABET/EAC-accredited program
- 8+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Preferred additional credentials such as CFM, CPESC, ENV SP, LEED AP, etc.
Qualifications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with computer-aided design software and other engineering tools
- Strong project management and leadership abilities
- Ability to conduct site visits and maintain health and safety protocols

- Sound engineering judgment
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills
- Advanced public speaking and presentation skills
- Understanding of industry practices and methodologies
