Senior Structural Engineer

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
• Minimum of Seven (7) years of foundation and/or above grade structural steel/concrete design in industrial and commercial building design, Generation Stations and/or Substation design experience
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred

Skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance from other engineers
• Willing to sign and seal structural drawings in various States
• Experience with Concrete and Steel Design (Expertise in either is acceptable)
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis, preferably STAAD Pro and RISA 3D
• Experience with Foundation Design, preferable with LPILE, Enercalc
• Ability to develop and review design drawings, specifications, and calculations
• Ability to prepare structural calculations using Excel and MathCAD
• Experience conducting site visits and structural field investigation
• Experience working within a team-oriented environment (with other civil, electrical, mechanical engineers) to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with industrial sites, electric generating stations, and/or substations
• Expert understanding of structural engineering codes and regulations including ASCE-7, AISC, ACI, AWS, and related
