Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services, currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a Heavy Civil Construction Project in The Woodlands, TX, USA (100% onsite).
Responsibilities
- Review structural drawings, calculations, technical specifications, and design documentation.
- Coordinate technical and design matters with external designers, consultants, and construction teams.
- Perform constructability reviews and identify potential design risks, conflicts, or construction challenges.
- Propose design optimizations, alternative technical solutions, and value engineering opportunities.
- Prepare, review, or coordinate structural designs required during project execution.
- Support the design and review of temporary works, auxiliary structures, and temporary construction systems.
- Respond to technical questions and engineering requests from project teams.
- Support the preparation and review of RFIs, submittals, technical proposals, and engineering documentation.
- Verify compliance with applicable United States codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with construction, planning, estimating, cost control, and project management departments.
- Participate in collaborative and multidisciplinary working environments.
- Provide practical engineering solutions aligned with project construction requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 6–8 years of structural engineering experience in concrete and steel structures, infrastructure, highway, bridge, or heavy civil projects.
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design.
- Practical understanding of construction methods and project execution.
- Previous experience working for a contractor, construction company, or technical office will be highly valued.
- Experience in design review, design coordination, constructability, temporary works, or value engineering.
- Knowledge of the U.S. engineering and construction market, structural design codes, analysis/design software, and technical document review.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within collaborative and multidisciplinary teams.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (9 hours; 1-hour lunch break).
