Responsibilities
- Analyze and prepare project designs, calculations, and drawings for steel bridges, pre-cast, pre-stressed concrete bridges, cast-in-place flat slabs, and miscellaneous structures, with a focus on complex or specialized designs.
- Assume lead role in complex structural design efforts; assign, track, and review tasks of technicians, designers, and engineers, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
- QC final work product; oversee project design from conception to completion in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule; coordinate with other disciplines throughout the duration of the project.
- Provide constructability reviews; perform independent peer reviews on project submittals; review contract plans and calculations from other engineering teams and outside entities to verify completion and compliance with governing structural design codes and contract plans and specifications.
- Serve as the Engineer-of-Record for major, minor, and miscellaneous structural designs; communicate high-level concepts effectively with team members, internal design groups, and external entities including clients, subconsultants, and relevant government agencies.
- Build client relationships, help identify business opportunities, meet with clients, and have client accountability; participate in project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors as necessary.
- Take an active role in proposal activities, including write-ups and preliminary and final reviews; provide timely resume updates, project write-ups, proposal support, and participate in marketing initiatives as required.
- Ensure timely completion of time sheets, expense reports, and labor hours management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- 8+ years of experience
- Excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills
