About the role
The Boston office of Arup is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Structural Engineering team. The role involves designing structural elements and systems for various building projects, including new constructions and renovations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and design structural elements and systems for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry buildings in accordance with building codes and design standards.
- Perform lateral analyses of structures for seismic and wind loading.
- Prepare and review drawings detailing the systems designed.
- Complete design calculations for structural systems for permit submittals.
- Cover coordination work with engineers of other disciplines and with architectural teams and contractors.
- Review submittals prepared by contractors and respond to requests for information, perform construction site visits to observe the progress of construction.
- Communicate structural engineering designs to clients and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with a sound knowledge of structural engineering fundamentals as they relate to building systems.
- 7+ years related experience in structural design and engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of general analysis and design software (ETABS, SAP, Ram Structural System etc.).
- Ability to utilize Revit and coordinate with BIM production staff.

Pay
The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Boston is $115,000 to $140,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary.
