Senior Structural Bridge Engineer
Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a Structural emphasis.
- P.E. license.
- 10+ years of bridge/culvert design experience.
- DOT bridge design experience and thorough understanding of DOT guidelines, procedures, and plan preparation (ODOT, NCDOT or MaineDOT preferred).
- Thorough knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and Manual for Bridge Evaluation.
- M.S. degree in a relevant discipline.
- Relationships with DOT and municipalities.
Essential Functions
- Perform engineering design tasks for bridge projects from preliminary to final design.
- Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
- Have established working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project managers, especially in DOT and local governments.
- Provide engineering design services for traditional design-bid-build projects and design-build bridge projects.
- Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans.
- Cook up design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers.
- Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, and scheduling performance.
- Identify schedule and cost variances and develop and implement recommendations for corrective action.
- Participate in projects by completing tasks within schedule and budget with teams comprised of different disciplines.
- Actively participate and serve in leadership positions in transportation related organizations such as ASHE, ASCE, NCSEA, etc.

Benefits
Salary range: $128,000 – 185,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.
