About The Team

Grindr is an AI-native platform powering how millions of gay people connect globally. With 15M+ monthly users, 130B+ annual messages, and a team of fewer than 200, we move fast, stay lean, and tackle technical problems at a scale few companies ever see. Grindr's ads business is growing, and there's significantly more runway ahead. The Ads team is responsible for scaling an ad product that can become one of the most meaningful revenue drivers for the business — without compromising the experience that keeps 15M+ users coming back.

About The Job

Own the product strategy and roadmap for Grindr’s consumer ads business, with a focus on building ads experiences that improve monetization without compromising user trust or product quality. Serve as the product SME and primary product partner for ads, working closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Ads Sales, and senior leadership to define priorities and drive execution. Build and scale a stronger rewarded ads portfolio, identifying where ads can create value for users and where existing experiences need to be improved, reduced, or rethought. Translate business goals, advertiser needs, and user experience signals into clear product bets, sequencing, and success metrics. Partner with technical teams on ads platform, ad formats, delivery systems, and measurement — with working familiarity with programmatic advertising, mobile ad mediation, and the broader ad delivery ecosystem. Use data, experimentation, and market insight to evaluate ads performance, diagnose issues, and identify opportunities that directly impact Grindr’s bottom line. Diagnose supply quality issues and optimize publisher-side ad logic, with the ability to design and s novel monetization approaches on top of existing mediation infrastructure.

Role Requirements

  • 8+ years of Product Management experience, including meaningful ownership of consumer-facing ads, ads monetization, rewarded ads, or adjacent monetization products.
  • Strong consumer product judgment, with a track record of building experiences that balance user needs, business outcomes, and technical constraints.
  • Experience partnering with technical teams on ads platforms, ad formats, measurement, delivery, or monetization infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to define strategy, build roadmaps, and execute through ambiguity as a senior IC across multiple cross-functional partners.
  • Strong data fluency, including comfort using metrics, experimentation, and performance analysis to make product decisions.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and operating as the product point of contact for a complex, business-critical domain.

You May Thrive In This Role If You Are

  • AI-native or rapidly becoming so - you actively use AI tools in your workflow and are always looking for new ways to leverage them.
  • Built or scaled ads products at a consumer company where user experience, marketplace dynamics, and revenue outcomes all mattered.
  • Have experience with rewarded ads, self-serve ads, third-party advertiser workflows, or ads products that connect advertiser demand to consumer-facing product surfaces.
  • Are energized by being the person who turns a messy, high-impact business area into a clear product strategy with a real execution path.
