Senior Staff Product Designer - Customer Experience
About the role
The Senior Staff Product Designer will lead the design of tools for trucking and logistics companies to manage daily operations for a fleet of self-driving trucks. This role requires a deep understanding of both the technology and the operational needs of these companies.
Responsibilities
- Own the customer experience blueprint, ensuring consistency, simplicity, and integration with the broader operational ecosystem.
- Design customer-facing digital tools across web, mobile, and partner integrations.
- Use AI across the design lifecycle without losing judgment, focusing on clear, compelling narratives for executive, cross-functional, and technical audiences.
- Tie work directly to outcomes, such as ensuring support feels like a natural part of the product by designing self-serve recovery paths.
- Manage and develop one Product Designer, contributing to raising the bar for the broader design practice.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in product design, with a track record of leading complex, multi-workstream projects.
- Experience formally managing other designers.
- A portfolio showing end-to-end work across research and design for complex enterprise, operational, or mission-critical systems, with clear evidence of business impact.
- Expertise in interaction design, information architecture, and UX research with a high bar for visual design quality.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate research insights and design rationale into clear, compelling narratives.
Qualifications
- Experience with autonomous technology, hardware-software integrated products, or physical supply chain logistics is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI across the design lifecycle without losing judgment.
Skills
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with user-centered design processes.
- Knowledge of UX research methods and tools.
- Proficiency in design software such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, etc.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $171K-$247K per year. Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions.
Schedule
We operate in a hybrid work environment where Aurorans are in the office at least 3 days per week. This allows for increased collaboration, empathy, and effective leadership.
