Senior / Staff Nurse (NUH Cardiothoracic ICU)

About the role

Provide comprehensive, high-quality care to patients recovering from complex cardiothoracic procedures, including open-heart surgery, heart transplants, and lung transplants.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients requiring advanced life support, including Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and catheter-based left Ventricular Assist Devices (cVAD).
• Assess and manage hemodynamics, arrhythmias, and drug infusions, noting subtle changes to prevent complications.
• Assume accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.
• Work with clinicians, doctors, and nurses to achieve optimal health outcomes.
• Provide patient education and support to family members to help them cope with the critical illness.
• Act as a team leader during shifts and mentor junior staff or nursing students.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
• Degree or Diploma in Nursing or State Registered Nurse Certificate.
• Cardiac/ICU experience preferred.

Schedule

Required to work 3 rotating shifts.
