Senior Staff Engineer

For our client, a leader in the Finance & Insurance space, we are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to support financial strategy, forecasting, and performance management initiatives that strengthen business visibility and decision-making.

About the role

You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. The position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise performance and scalable financial operations within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Own technical direction for orchestration platform
• Define orchestration patterns for diverse applications
• Make architectural tradeoffs for reliability and cost
• Act as escalation point for orchestration failures
• Establish standards for modeling failure and retries
• Drive consistency in recovery workflows across teams
• Mentor engineers in distributed systems and fault tolerance

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with large-scale distributed systems
• Expertise in fault tolerance and recovery design
• Track record of technical leadership across multiple teams
• Ability to design for partial system failures
• Experience with shared platforms used by various teams

Pay

$130,000 – $260,000 annually
