SENIOR STAFF ANALYST (Housing and Homelessness)

About the role
The Senior Staff Analyst will be assigned to the Office of Housing and Homelessness and will perform a variety of professional assignments involving research, analysis, planning, evaluation, and administrative duties to support programs focused on housing stability and homelessness response. The role includes performing specialty assignments or acting in a lead or supervisory capacity over lower-level professional and support staff. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, proactive, and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research, analysis, planning, and evaluation for housing and homelessness programs.
- Perform administrative duties to support program operations.
- Complete specialty assignments as required.
- Act in a lead or supervisory capacity over lower-level professional and support staff.
Requirements
Education
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the United States.
- Full-time, paid paraprofessional or technical work experience with the County of Fresno may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Experience
- Three years of full-time, paid work experience equivalent to that gained as a Staff Analyst with the County of Fresno, administering and coordinating publicly funded homelessness or housing programs.
- Possession of a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in the United States may substitute for one year of the required Staff Analyst experience.
License
- Possession of a valid Class “C” driver’s license, or equivalent, may be required.

This position is classified under Medical Group I - Light Physical Activity, which includes light physical effort such as lifting small objects, some bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and reaching. Considerable walking or standing may be involved.
