Senior Staff Accountant
About the role
Skanska is searching for a dynamic Senior Staff Accountant to support the accounting function through hands-on involvement in financial reporting, general ledger activity, account reconciliation, and analysis. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in construction accounting and revenue recognition, along with the ability to work independently on complex matters. The Senior Staff Accountant works collaboratively with the accounting team, project staff, and management, and performs duties with oversight from the Controller. The position is designed for a high-performing individual contributor with increasing responsibility and the opportunity for future advancement.
Responsibilities
- Support financial reporting and general ledger activity
- Perform account reconciliations and financial analysis
- Apply knowledge of revenue recognition principles, particularly in construction or percentage-of-completion accounting
- Collaborate with the accounting team, project staff, and management
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (construction experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS and financial statement preparation
- Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Knowledge of accounting systems (JD Edwards preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Skills
- Technical accounting expertise, particularly in construction accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work independently on complex accounting matters

Pay
Salary range: USD $108,500.00 – $115,000.00 per year.
