About the role

The Senior Specialty Representative plays a crucial role in connecting Amgen's products to medical professionals in the bone health market. This position requires a deep understanding of Amgen's offerings and the ability to effectively communicate their clinical benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive knowledge of Amgen's products and effectively communicate their clinical benefits to medical professionals
  • Deliver branded sales messages, conduct planned programs, schedule and follow-up with medical educational programs, and achieve or exceed sales targets through both in-person and virtual engagements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with accounts, including customizing discussions and customer interactions based on customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving/retrieving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts
  • Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze business effectiveness of sales activities, and develop territory plans with the District Manager
  • Partner with other colleagues to share best practices and seek to learn and grow as a Senior Specialty Representative
  • Demonstrate passion for Amgen's products throughout the sales cycle and sustain that passion while always focusing on serving patients

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related
  • OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related
  • OR High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related
  • More than 3 years of sales, marketing, and/or clinical experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, healthcare insurance, pharmacy services, healthcare medical device or medical supply industries
  • Experience in oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, bone health, respiratory, hematology, or infectious diseases; and the diseases and treatments involved with these specialties
  • Advanced influencing and relationship-building skills with a focus on sales outcomes
  • Local market knowledge

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration
  • Core competencies: Sales Planning and Organizing, Leveraging Business, Industry, and Technical Knowledge, Communicating with Impact, Driving for Results, and Cultivating Internal and External Relationships
