Senior Specialty Pharmacy Technician
About the role
The Senior Specialty Pharmacy Technician works with the Lead Pharmacy Technician, Nursing staff, and Physicians to ensure clinical goals are met through workload prioritization. This role requires working within multiple computer systems, responding to questions, and providing specific medication details or clinical information. The position demands a fast-paced, high-volume environment where accuracy is crucial.
Primary Responsibilities
- Performs all daily and monthly medical cabinet duties as outlined in the policy and procedure manual.
- Mixes chemotherapy and other drugs accurately as ordered by physicians using appropriate aseptic techniques and following policies and procedures.
- All chemotherapy orders must be verified with a nurse.
- Mixes chemotherapy and biologics only within the biological safety cabinet (BSC) using proper aseptic techniques.
- Fulfills clean room guidelines and accurately prepares IV solutions and other sterile products.
- Maintains accuracy in processing orders.
- Possesses working knowledge of appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and chemotherapy spill kits in case of a cytotoxic spill.
- Knowledgeable about the appropriate use of PPE and chemotherapy spill kits in the event of a cytotoxic spill.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Certified Pharmacy Technician in the State of Nevada
- 1+ years of sterile compounding experience
- Ability to perform role in an office setting or other company location 10% of the time
- Access to reliable transportation that enables travel to client/patient sites within a designated area
Preferred Qualifications
- National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician
- 2+ years of experience in IV / Chemotherapy admixture

Pay
The hourly pay for this role ranges from $17.98 to $32.12 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
