Responsibilities

  • Compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions
  • Maintains drug inventory and stock control systems
  • Aids pharmacists in compounding, preparing, and dispensing medical prescriptions
  • Enters, accesses, or retrieves data using computers
  • Establishes and maintains patient profiles
  • Maintains proper storage and security conditions for drugs
  • Controls inventory stock levels and timelines to ensure adequate supplies
  • Coordinates departmental quality assurance and other client-focused services with supervisory staff
  • Creates and maintains a safe working environment and conditions that adhere to state laws and regulations
  • Provides work guidance to others, including leading in resolving day-to-day challenges
  • Serves as a resource for leadership and staff, as well as a mentor to others
  • Supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of new processes or techniques
  • Ensures policies and procedures are followed

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED required
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • Two years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, including leading providing work guidance to others
  • Must maintain annual registration as a Pharmacy Technician through the State Board of Pharmacy in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state privileges as required by position
  • Must complete the required hours of Pharmacy Technician continuing education
