Senior Specialist Production- Tues. - Sat. 3:00PM - 11:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Understands and performs laboratory activities to all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
• Performs and evaluates quality control testing on blood products using hematology analyzers, pH meters, and WBC counting technologies
• Maintains equipment by performing daily quality control and preventative maintenance
• Performs testing on proficiency testing for CAP surveys
• Labels blood products according to regulatory requirements
• Accompanies and packs blood donor sample tubes for infectious disease testing where applicable
• Performs reconciliations, lot release and client sample release of infectious disease testing
• Performs pathogen reduction production process on blood products, as applicable
• Performs donor antigen testing and antibody titrations, as applicable
• Conducts validation procedures to qualify new production processes
• Supports trainers by coordinating and maintaining staff training and competencies
• Maintains competencies in required tasks in Core Production and/or Hospital Services
• Maintains equipment reagent inventory levels for daily laboratory operations
• Delegates, monitors and motivates team members
• Works in partnership with Leads and Supervisor to improve communication between management and employees
• Works weekend, holiday rotations and on-call, as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in biology or related science preferred, Associate's Degree in a chemical, physical or biological science or medical laboratory technology or other experience may be accepted by management required
• Experience: 1-3 years, 1+ year of related work experience in a health care setting preferred
