About the role
The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, integrating, and testing systems ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards. Must have experience manufacturing RF-based electronic systems, as well as instructor experience to provide instruction to junior production technicians on an as needed basis.
Responsibilities
- Cook up with production, logistics, and facility managers on material availability, production schedule, delivery need dates, and steps throughout the production process
- Aid with production planning for multiple system designs
- Build and integrate electronic equipment
- Complete production checklists and acceptance test procedures in coordination with quality assurance
- Identify and help resolve problems with production goods
- Traverse technical (hardware and software) issues as they occur in coordination with the engineering team as needed
- Escalate any hardware/software issues or system outages to leadership immediately
- Administer and log the documentation of production tasks and assets in our ticketing system
- Manage and log the configuration of hardware and software
- Document production data and maintain accurate records
- Complete test reports and prepare for delivery
- Operate and monitor test equipment verifying calibrations are current to ensure data integrity
- Inspect intermediate and finished products for quality assurance/quality control and adherence to specifications
- Aid logistics team in teardown, packing, and shipping of systems
- Effectively manage time to support delivery need dates
- Collaborate with production team members to improve efficiency and productivity
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Perform preventative maintenance checks and services
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist in the setup and calibration of test equipment for new production runs
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs
Requirements
- Must have a bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related field and 8+ years of relevant experience; OR 12+ years of equivalent experience without a degree
- Should have functional knowledge of ground systems capable of transmitting and receiving RF emissions
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to read and interpret test procedures and technical documents
- Must be able to physically able to lift, rack, and stack equipment following one-person, two-person, and lifting device safety recommendations
- Strong troubleshooting skills in software loading, hardware, and network issues
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Desired Skills/Experience
- Technical certification or training in a related field
- Experience working with ground terminal equipment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and weekends if necessary
- Ability/willingness to operate forklift and pallet jacks
- Familiarity with logistics and production operations including asset management of government property
- Participation in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs
