About the role
The Senior Specialist, Executive & Internal Communications plays a crucial role in supporting the planning and execution of strategic internal and executive communications for Corning's business. This role is responsible for developing clear, compelling content that helps employees understand company strategy, priorities, performance, and key initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develops, writes, edits, and coordinates a wide range of internal communications, including leadership messages, employee news articles, talking points, Q&As, video scripts, presentations, newsletters, and meeting materials.
- Supports execution of internal communications plans that inform and engage employees around business priorities, organizational updates, strategy, and performance.
- PARTNERS WITH INTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS TO ENSURE EMPLOYEE COMMUNICATIONS ARE CLEAR, ACCURATE, TIMELY, AND ALIGNED WITH BUSINESS OBJECTIVES AND COMPANY MESSAGING.
- HELPS FOSTER CLEAR, CANDID, AND CONSISTENT COMMUNICATION BY TRANSLATING BUSINESS UPDATES INTO AUDIENCE-APPROPRIATE EMPLOYEE MESSAGING.
- SUPPORTS COMMUNICATION NEEDS FOR EMPLOYEE MEETINGS, LEADERSHIP FORUMS, AND OTHER INTERNAL EVENTS.
- ASSISTS WITH EDITORIAL PLANNING AND CONTENT DEVELOPMENT FOR INTERNAL CHANNELS AND PLATFORMS, INCLUDING INTRANET OR SHAREPOINT-BASED COMMUNICATIONS AS APPLICABLE.
- SUPPORTS EXECUTIVE COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT BY DRAFTING PRESENTATIONS, TALKING POINTS, REMARKS, BRIEFING MATERIALS, Q&AS, AND OTHER LEADERSHIP COMMUNICATIONS.
- WORKS CLOSER WITH DISPLAY COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER AND BUSINESS LEADERS AND INTERNAL PARTNERS TO DEVELOP HIGH-QUALITY COMMUNICATIONS MATERIALS THAT ARTICULATE BUSINESS STRATEGY, PRIORITIES, AND PERFORMANCE.
- CREATES POLISHED, VISUALLY EFFECTIVE EXECUTIVE PRESENTATIONS THAT HELP LEADERS COMMUNICATE WITH CLARITY AND IMPACT.
- HELPS PREPARE LEADERS FOR EMPLOYEE-FACING COMMUNICATION OPPORTUNITIES BY SUPPORTING MESSAGE DEVELOPMENT AND CONTENT REFINEMENT.
- Maintains confidentiality and uses sound judgment when handling sensitive business information and leadership communications.
- CONTINUES TO SERVE AS A STRONG WRITER AND EDITOR, WITH THE ABILITY TO ADAPT CONTENT FOR DIFFERENT AUDIENCES, COMMUNICATION CHANNELS, AND LEADERSHIP STYLES.
- TRANSLATES TECHNICAL, OPERATIONAL, OR BUSINESS INFORMATION INTO CONCISE, ENGAGING COMMUNICATIONS FOR EMPLOYEE AUDIENCES.
- SUPPORTS THE CREATION OF COMMUNICATIONS ASSETS WITH FAMILIARITY IN, OR WILLINGNESS TO LEARN, ADOBÉ CREATIVE TOOLS AS NEEDED.
- REVIEWS AND IMPROVES CONTENT DRAFTED BY OTHERS TO ENHANCE CLARITY, GRAMMAR, STRUCTURE, TONE, AND CONSISTENCY.
- CROSS-FUNCTIONAL AND MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT BY COLLABORATING WITH COMMUNICATIONS, HR, BUSINESS, AND FUNCTIONAL TEAMS TO SUPPORT STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS INITIATIVES.
- BUILDS STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH INTERNAL CUSTOMERS TO UNDERSTAND BUSINESS NEEDS AND DELIVER HIGH-QUALITY COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT.
- DEMONSTRATES FLEXIBILITY AND WILINESS TO SUPPORT BROADER MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS PROJECTS, CAMPAIGNS, OR SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS AS BUSINESS NEEDS EVOLVE.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in internal communications, executive communications, corporate communications, marketing communications, public relations, or a related field
- Proven experience writing and editing communications for internal or leadership audiences
- Experience creating presentations and communications materials for business stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting employee communications programs or campaigns
- Experience developing communications for leaders or executives
- Familiarity with intranet platforms, SharePoint, or internal communications tools
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience supporting communications for employee meetings, town halls, or leadership events
- Willingness to contribute to broader marketing communications projects as needed
