About the Role

The Senior Specialist in Business Development & Marketing will play a central role in shaping and executing business development initiatives across some of the firm's most dynamic practice areas, including Cybersecurity & Data Privacy and related practice-adjacent areas. This position will partner directly with lawyers and firm leadership to drive client growth, deepen market positioning, and bring strategic plans to life on a global stage. The Senior Specialist will own key initiatives, collaborate with a talented and collegial Global Business Development & Marketing team, and contribute meaningfully to the firm's strategic priorities across its Product, Industry, and Client Teams. This position will also have the opportunity to support broader litigation business development efforts, providing visibility across practices and geographies. Responsibilities

  • Business Plans & Infrastructure:
    • Assist and support business development team members and lawyers in executing business plans and client strategies, tracking implementation and progress.
    • Communicate successes, best practices, and group activities internally to ensure coordination across the Business Development & Marketing Department.
  • Business Development & Profile Raising Initiatives:
    • Support thought leadership publications, project management, and data mining for business development opportunities.
    • Manage logistics, communications, and execution for events, podcasts, videos, seminars, and sponsorships.
    • Support research, data collection, directory submissions, matter coding, and intranet site maintenance.
    • Track global pipeline activities and engage in competitive intelligence-gathering.
    • Maintain lawyer profiles and practice descriptions.
    • Leverage the Firm’s CRM database (InterAction) for business development purposes.
  • Pitches, Proposals & Marketing Materials:
    • Support the development of tailored proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
    • Develop and maintain group-specific marketing content, including brochures, presentations, and social media posts.
  • Local Office Support:
    • Provide support for local seminars, sponsorships, and other events as needed.
  • Other:
    • Manage projects independently, provide mentorship to junior team members, and ensure adherence to Firm policies.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to meet Firm goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, or a related field requiring analytical and advanced writing and research skills.
  • Professional Experience:
    • Six years in business development, marketing, or research in professional services (law, accounting, consulting preferred).
    • Understanding of the intellectual property market is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and video conferencing tools.
    • Familiarity with research databases (Manzama, Capital IQ, Mergermarket, LexisNexis, etc.).
  • Performance Traits:
    • Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and adapt to shifting priorities.
    • Self-starter with strong initiative, judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Team player with a client-service orientation and attention to detail.
    • Flexibility to work additional hours and travel as needed.

Physical Requirements

Normal office environment with extensive use of typical business equipment. Ability to move between floors/buildings, sit for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.

Pay

The typical pay scale for this position is between USD $102,200.00/Yr. and USD $152,800.00/Yr., although the actual wage or salary could be lower or higher based on education, experience, skills, and internal pay alignment.
