About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Integration Engineer to serve as a hands-on subject matter expert (SME) for enterprise data integration (ETL or ELT) development and application connectivity across a modern enterprise technology landscape. This role partners closely with Solution Architects, Application Teams, Data Platform Teams, and Business Analysts to design, develop, test, and support integration solutions with a primary focus on Talend and modernization of existing MuleSoft-based ETL integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Talend Development & Integration Delivery
    • Serve as a Talend subject matter expert responsible for developing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise integration solutions.
    • Design and develop Talend jobs, workflows, data pipelines, orchestration processes, and reusable integration components.
    • Build and maintain batch, near-real-time, and event-driven integration processes supporting operational and analytical workloads.
    • Optimize Talend jobs for performance, scalability, maintainability, and operational reliability.
  • MuleSoft Migration & Modernization
    • Analyze existing MuleSoft integrations, APIs, transformations, and integration workflows.
    • Translate MuleSoft integration logic and data transformation patterns into Talend-based solutions.
    • Support enterprise modernization initiatives involving migration of MuleSoft integrations to Talend.
    • Validate data integrity, business logic, and operational functionality during migration activities.
  • Data Integration & Transformation
    • Develop ETL and ELT solutions supporting enterprise applications, data warehouses, and analytics platforms.
    • Implement data transformation, cleansing, validation, enrichment, reconciliation, and error-handling frameworks.
    • Support data quality, auditability, lineage, and operational monitoring requirements.
  • Platform Connectivity
    • Develop and maintain integrations across Salesforce, Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, REST APIs, SOAP services, SFTP platforms, flat files, cloud applications, and enterprise data platforms.
    • Build and support integrations utilizing JSON, XML, CSV, API-based, file-based, and database-based connectivity patterns.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Support production deployments, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident resolution, and performance tuning activities.
    • Maintain technical documentation, integration specifications, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.
    • Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, code reviews, and testing activities.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in enterprise integration, ETL or ELT development, middleware platforms, or data engineering.
  • 5 years of hands-on Talend development experience, including design, development, deployment, and support of production integrations.
  • Develops and supports enterprise integrations connecting cloud and on-premise platforms within established architecture and governance standards.
  • Identifies and escalates integration performance, data quality, and operational risks to Solution Architects and platform leadership.

Qualifications

  • Direct hands-on experience with Talend Data Integration.
  • Solid understanding of on-premise and hybrid Talend platform hardware and software configurations, including Talend Administration Center (TAC), JobServers, and Qlik Talend Cloud (QTC) with Remote Engines.
  • Strong experience developing ETL and ELT solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Experience analyzing, supporting, or converting MuleSoft integrations.
  • Strong SQL development and database integration experience.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce platforms and APIs.
  • Experience integrating Snowflake.
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience developing integrations utilizing REST APIs, SOAP services, JSON, XML, and related technologies.
  • Experience with SFTP platforms, file-based integration patterns, and data exchange processes.
  • Experience with Git source control management and CI/CD deployment processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Talend Data Integration or Talend Cloud certifications.
  • Hands-on MuleSoft development experience.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience with Qlik Replicate, CData Sync, Informatica, or similar data integration tools.
  • Experience working within Snowflake-based data platforms.
  • Experience supporting Data Warehouse, Data Lake, or Medallion Architecture environments.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Shell Scripting.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise integration environments utilizing Agile.

Pay

The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary target for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job level, and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Depending on the position, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of overall compensation, such as an annual performance-based bonus, sales incentive pay, and other forms of bonus or variable compensation.
