About the role
This sales specialist is responsible for driving adoption of our MACSima™ and Ultramicroscope Blaze portfolio including associated software, antibodies, and reagents in the defined territory. This includes current and future applications, in both academic and biopharma settings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed company sales forecasts in designated territory for assigned products, through in-depth knowledge of light sheet microscopy spatial biology and multi-omics applications, competition, product knowledge, and sales skills.
- Identify potential sales leads and develop sales plan for converting leads using available resources.
- Routinely visit customers and prospects in assigned territory, to make presentations, conduct demonstrations, and to hold sales discussions.
- Work through own sales activities, and collaboratively with service and support teams to ensure customer success resulting in a positive referral network.
- Plan and conduct product demos coordinating with field sales and support teams to achieve success.
- Attend tradeshows, sales meetings, trainings and other activities as required for success and/or as assigned by management, including both domestic and international travel.
- Utilize corporate systems to maintain up-to-date sales funnel, process leads, and complete administrative tasks such as trainings, reporting and communications.
- Train and mentor other spatial biology specialists helping elevate their success.
- Develop knowledge in key application areas for the Blaze and MACSima technology and assists marketing colleagues in building productive relationships with their customers.
- Engage with customers to develop referral business, reference sites and technology evangelists that help promote our imaging technologies within their territory and nationally.
- Act as a primary liaison to marketing.
- Participate in strategic market analysis and provide competitive information to management to assist in identification of new product opportunities and opportunities for special marketing programs.
- Work collaboratively in shared accounts to grow the sales of the company overall.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in life sciences required; master’s degree in life sciences preferred; Doctoral Degree in life sciences preferred;
- A minimum of 6-10 years' sales experience; with at least 3 years of capital equipment sales experience.
- Immunology experience preferred.
- Understanding of some or all of the following techniques: immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence transcriptomics, spatial biology, single-cell sequencing, high content screening.
- Understands basic analysis or formats for representation of large datasets for methods such as high-content, single-cell, whole-genome or other similar techniques.
- Is a technology evangelist, comfortable with early-adoption phase of products and in new/novel applications.
- Adept at differentiating customer profiles based on customer goals and needs and making decisions to pursue or defer on opportunities in real-time.
- Able to distill value from market trends and provide actionable and relevant market feedback to the organization to influence the success of the product portfolio.
