Senior Solutions Engineer - Mid-Market Tampa

About the role

Solutions Engineers drive technical discussions and implementations to help generate new business, expand existing business, and keep our customers happy. They qualify prospects and customers, discover technical requirements, lead demonstrations, identify and design solutions, and collaborate on proofs-of-concept (PoCs).

They advise existing customers on technical best practices, implement Cloudflare products and features, and provide strategic guidance on internet security and performance. The role involves 20-30% travel for meetings, conferences, and collaborations.

Responsibilities

• Qualify prospects and customers, discover technical requirements
• Lead demonstrations, identify and design solutions
• Collaborate on PoCs
• Advise existing customers on technical best practices
• Implement Cloudflare products and features
• Provide strategic guidance on internet security and performance
• Attend meetings, conferences, and collaborate with teammates

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with a scripting language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Bash, Lua, Go)
• Expertise in internet technologies: OSI Model layers 1-7, BGP, GRE, TCP/UDP, DNS (authoritative and recursive), HTTP(S), SSL / TLS
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Framework and SASE related concepts
• 12+ years of experience in a customer-facing sales or consulting role
• Technical curiosity and passion for staying updated on Cloudflare's products and industry trends
• Ability to translate technical concepts into understandable terms for various audiences
• Experience managing projects, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing tasks

Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and ExperienceGraduate-level degrees in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
