About the role

Join the AWS Startup Solutions Architecture team and work directly with early-stage startup companies as they build their businesses. You’ll help these ambitious founders deploy scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures while navigating environments of scarcity—whether capital, engineering resources, or experience. This role is ideal for technical builders who want to establish enduring relationships with startups, act as a trusted advisor, and influence their technical decisions. You’ll also have opportunities to sharpen your skills across AWS’s 175+ services, advocate for product improvements, and share your knowledge through content creation and events.

Responsibilities

• Engage directly with startup customers to provide technical advocacy as they build their products in the cloud, ensuring cost-efficiency and scalability.
• Create plans with customer account teams to define how you’ll address their cloud needs.
• Share technical knowledge through startup-focused sessions, workshops, webinars, and events.
• Collaborate with AWS teams (e.g., marketing, training) to create scalable content (e.g., videos, digital resources) for the broader startup community.
• Work closely with startups to understand their technical requirements, business objectives, and growth plans, then architect AWS-based solutions aligned with their goals.
• Lead technical discussions, present best practices, and guide startups on AWS architecture, services, and solutions for scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Product, Support) to deliver comprehensive solutions addressing startup-specific needs.
• Design and implement proof-of-concepts (POCs) and reference architectures to demonstrate the value of AWS services.
• Stay current with AWS services, industry trends, and best practices, sharing knowledge within the team to drive innovation.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in specific technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 3+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting for applications and infrastructures.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
• Experience working with end-user or developer communities.

Pay

Base salary range: $169,000 – $228,600 USD annually (location: USA, NY, New York). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
