Peak Performers has partnered with a Texas State Agency to assist in their search for an onsite Senior Web Solutions Architect in Austin, TX.
About the role
In this position, you will perform highly advanced (senior-level) web design, governance, and development work.
Responsibilities
- Lead website projects, redesigns, and functionality enhancements from concept through deployment.
- Drive SEO improvements, modern UX updates, information architecture changes, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with development teams on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, components, templates, and widget development.
- Perform advanced website maintenance, including layout updates and cross-browser/device compatibility.
- Troubleshoot broken links, site errors, and functionality issues.
- Apply web standards and accessibility guidelines.
- Use analytics tools to monitor traffic, user behavior, and site performance, and recommend improvements.
- Serve as a CMS expert and provide guidance on system-level enhancements.
- Support definition of business requirements for new digital capabilities.
- Contribute to digital projects such as interactive tools, multimedia, and digital communications.
- Manage content updates to ensure accuracy, accessibility, brand consistency, and alignment with communication goals.
- Conduct regular content reviews and advise content owners on layout, design, and user experience.
- Support the web team in managing content and webpage development.
- Work with subject matter experts to review and update webpages in accordance with website policies.
- Participate in usability testing and website assessments.
- Review analytics and recommend webpage improvements as needed.
- Support digital communications projects involving graphics, photography, video, and multimedia.
- Help manage and improve web governance, including review schedules and workflows.
- Maintain agency-wide content review schedules, governance processes, and workflows.
- Support server-related responsibilities, including monitoring performance and troubleshooting issues with Information Systems.
- Monitor website traffic, user behavior, site speed, and capacity; provide regular reports and insights.
- Support website security, backups, and accessibility compliance.
- Troubleshoot technical issues such as broken links, page errors, search issues, and functionality problems.
- Collaborate with web and IS teams on requirements, statements of work, RFPs, and CMS implementation.
- Participate in cross-divisional workgroups and governance committees to improve site structure, content quality, and user experience.
- Confer with the Office of the General Counsel and accessibility teams as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, web development, information technology, or other similarly related majors.
- Five years of experience administrating, developing, and/or maintaining enterprise websites, including experience with web servers, content management systems (CMS), or application troubleshooting.
- Three years of experience leading or overseeing enterprise web initiatives. Qualifying experience includes coordinating projects, implementing web technologies, establishing best practices, providing technical guidance, or supervision to technical staff.
Skills & Knowledge
Knowledge of:
- Web administration principles, web application architecture, and enterprise web technologies.
- Web servers, content management systems, web accessibility standards (WCAG/Section 508), and web security best practices.
- Programming and scripting languages, database concepts, and software development methodologies.
Skill in:
- Administering, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise websites and web applications.
- Analyzing business requirements and implementing technical solutions.
- Managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while providing technical leadership.
Ability to:
- Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain complex web applications and websites.
- Lead technical projects, establish web standards, and oversee the work of technical staff.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Pay
$64.50/hour (W2 contract)
Schedule
- 6-month contract with opportunity for extension
- Onsite in Austin, TX (78701)
