Senior Solutions Architect, EdTech, WWPS

About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate the growth of our business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. This role involves helping customers implement innovative cloud computing solutions, including Generative AI, machine learning, and modern data architectures.

Responsibilities

• Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
• Proactively identifying and driving resolution of technical escalations before they become blockers
• Defining implementation architectures
• Responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs)
• Developing a deep expertise in AWS technologies, particularly AI/ML and Generative AI services
• Being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services
• Providing exceptional technical design and thought leadership to customers
• Collaborating with a world-class sales and business development team
• Leading efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community
• Growing across three key dimensions: Customer Advisory, Thought Leadership, and Advancing the Organization

Requirements

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
• Experience with AI/ML or Generative AI services (e.g., Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Q)
• Experience working with Education or EdTech customers in K-12 or Higher Education
• Experience with security and compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, SOC2, or FERPA
• Experience working with end user or developer communities
• Experience with data and analytics architectures including data lakes, streaming, and business intelligence solutions

Qualifications

• Technical presentation experience, whiteboard, small and large group presentations
• Cloud computing and Web Services development/deployment experience
• Operational, Web site/services operations, management, and security experience
• Ability to travel 25-30%

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
