Senior Solutions Architect, California Higher Education

About the role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a highly motivated Senior Solutions Architect to help accelerate the growth of our business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. The ideal candidate will own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects, define implementation architectures, respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs), and develop deep expertise in AWS technologies.

Responsibilities

• Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
• Defining implementation architectures, responding to RFPs, and developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies
• Being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services
• Providing exceptional technical design and thought leadership to customers while working with a world-class sales and business development team
• Leading efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community

Requirements

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• Experience in technical presentation, web services development/deployment, operational web site/services operations, and management/security
• Ability to travel 30%

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or equivalent experience with AWS services including S3, Redshift, Sagemaker, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda, and EC2
• 1+ years of technology-related sales, business development, or sales engineering/consulting experience
• Knowledge of security and compliance standards including HIPAA and GDPR
• 6+ years of working cross-functionally across several teams experience, or Bachelor's degree
• 2+ years of data center or mission critical facilities (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.) experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
