Senior Solution Architect
Zions Bancorporation’s Enterprise Technology and Operations (ETO) team is transforming the banking experience. We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect with expertise in business applications and core banking systems to join our Enterprise Architecture team. This role focuses on driving quality solutions and ensuring alignment with strategic technology directions.
Responsibilities
Collaborate and communicate with key business and technology stakeholders
Work closely with product owners and product managers to support robust architectural roadmaps
Assist in project funding proposals and provide technical guidance on initiatives
Represent IT at project inception and participate in strategic planning sessions
Create future state roadmaps for products and technologies aligned with business objectives
Mentor others in architecture thinking and champion innovation
Qualifications
Strong hands-on expertise across multiple technical fields or advanced from traditional development roles into architecture or leadership
Advanced knowledge of multiple modern languages, patterns, and technologies such as Python, Java, integration fabric, cloud computing, IaC, CI/CD, automated testing, virtualization/containers, API management, messaging/streaming, Gen/Agentic AI, etc.
Excellent problem resolution, analysis, and trouble-shooting skills related to information architecture
Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Technology Management, or a related field, with more than five years in architecture or IT leadership within highly regulated industries
Location
This position is hybrid work from home with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT. The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus featuring electric vehicle charging stations, proximity to UTA TRAX station, and sustainable features like LEED certification.
