Senior Software Tester

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate functional and technical requirements and ensure appropriate test coverage.
  • Perform manual and automated testing of web-based applications, including functional, integration, regression, system, and performance testing using applicable testing tools and frameworks.
  • Ensure all software complies with DoD security standards, performing static and dynamic code analysis using tools such as Fortify, SonarQube, and Nessus.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and suggest optimizations.
  • Work closely with Scrum teams to provide feedback on user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and sprint reviews to ensure test coverage is in alignment with development goals.
  • Identify, document, and track defects in collaboration with developers, ensuring issues are resolved before production releases.
  • Use JIRA for issue tracking and managing testing workflows.
  • Support automated testing within Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or similar platforms.
  • Prepare detailed test reports, documenting test case execution results, defect tracking, and issue resolutions.
  • Provide insights on quality metrics and recommendations for future improvements.
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions with end-users, ensuring that the system meets functional requirements before production deployment.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a US Department of Defense Secret clearance.
  • Ability to work individually as well as with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience as a software tester working with Java and Angular.
  • Experience working with GitLab.
  • To be considered for this position, you must have the ability to obtain CompTIA Sec+ or a higher-level certification.

Desired Experience

  • With United States Transportation Command systems.
