Software Engineer, Senior
We are seeking a Software Engineer to support Agile design, development, integration, and deployment of mission management software for heterogeneous, proliferated satellite constellations. Your role will focus on optimizing the orchestration of multiple Space Capability Stacks (SCSs) to support complex, joint mission planning processes within a high-security, classified cloud-based environment.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a high-velocity Agile software team developing mission planning, automated mission tasking, deconfliction, replanning, and other backlog items.
- Ensure seamless integration of solutions with existing operational environments while maintaining a modular, scalable architecture for future enhancements.
- Develop software in secure, classified cloud-based environments, adhering to rigorous security and performance standards.
- Work within accredited SCIF or SAPF facilities to support classified system integration.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with software development.
- Experience delivering mission management software.
- Experience with software architecture for distributed systems and mission-critical applications.
- Experience with relational databases, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience with Python, AWS, or Kubernetes.
- Ability to utilize Agile methodologies, software development frameworks, and version control (e.g., Git).
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mission management or OPIR.
- Experience integrating software across teams and with external partners.
- Experience in container lifecycle management, image optimization, and orchestration using Docker and Podman.
- Experience with cloud-native development for secure, cloud-based environments.
- Experience with DevSecOps principles, including automated CI/CD pipelines, cybersecurity hardening, and infrastructure automation.
- Knowledge of Defensive Cyberspace Operations - Space (DCO-S) concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
- DoD 8570 IAT II Certification (e.g., CISSP or Security+).

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by factors including location, education, skills, competencies, experience, and contract-specific requirements.
Schedule
This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite, depending on the position listing:
- Remote: Primarily virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer sites as needed.
- Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration required.
For virtual and hybrid roles, cameras are generally expected to be on during meetings to support engagement and communication.
