About the role

You will be part of the Engineering team at ServiceTitan responsible for elevating the quality and reliability of our product. We provide exciting opportunities to make an immediate impact in our rapidly growing organization. Over 50,000 people depend on our software to perform all their daily activities.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build quality systems end-to-end — not just add tests, but architect the framework, tooling, and processes that let the team ship with confidence.
  • Build quality layer by layer: Set the vision of the layers (unit, integration, E2E, Load/Performance, Security, Chaos testing, etc) and guide the team through it by owning several layers of the guardrails.
  • Be an active quality partner in your squad — engage in squad channels, cross team communication, take incoming asks, troubleshoot issues, and drive them to resolution; be the quality voice in standups, planning, and code reviews.
  • Drive performance and load testing — collaborate with engineers on load test design and execution, build dashboards to monitor results, and establish ongoing monitoring practices.
  • Champion contract and chaos testing — bring familiarity with contract testing patterns and chaos/resilience testing to identify systemic weaknesses before they reach production.
  • Facilitate continuous process improvement — evaluate and evolve testing tools, methodologies, and reporting practices so the quality system stays relevant as the product grows.
  • Collaborate on test planning with Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to improve coverage and ensure test cases reflect real user scenarios.

Requirements

  • Systems thinking about quality — you approach testing as an engineering discipline, building reliable, maintainable, layered systems rather than one-off test scripts.
  • Broad testing expertise across multiple layers: functional, integration, contract, performance/load, chaos, and security testing — you don't need to own all of these deeply, but you understand each layer and can set the visions, contribute to and guide work across all of them.
  • Techical depth — you can read and write code fluently; you're not tied to a single language or framework and can adapt to the stack at hand. Experience with object-oriented languages (C#, Java, Python, or similar) is a strong plus.
  • Experience with performance and load testing — you know how to design meaningful load tests, instrument results, build dashboards, and monitor performance trends over time.
  • AI tooling proficiency — you actively use AI tools to improve your own workflow and help the team automate processes more effectively.
  • Troubleshooting and tool navigation — you're comfortable digging into unfamiliar systems, reading logs, using observability tools, and getting to the root of complex failures.
  • CI/CD and DevOps fluency — experience integrating test automation into pipelines (GitHub Actions, Teamcity, Jenkins, or similar) and a solid understanding of deployment processes.
  • SQL and data querying — good working knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL and/or MS-SQL preferred) for validating backend state and debugging data-layer issues.
  • Collaboration and squad presence — you're responsive, engaged, and take ownership of quality asks from your team without needing to be asked twice.
  • Experience with API and contract testing — familiarity with testing integrations across service boundaries, including third-party APIs.
  • Version control and code hygiene — strong Git practices, clean and reusable test code, and a habit of treating test code with the same care as production code.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating and driving in a fast-paced environment with periods of ambiguity.
