About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test to join our dynamic team at Everlaw. This role requires a deep understanding of Cypress for web application automation, experience with CI/CD tools, and a mentorship mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve existing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
  • Facilitate and expand automation techniques, primarily utilizing Cypress to build robust, scalable test suites.
  • Serve as a technical mentor for our QA team, helping them troubleshoot technical blockers and uplevel their scripting skills.
  • Conduct rigorous code reviews for automation specs, providing feedback that increases test reliability and execution speed.
  • Drive improvements with API testing, integrating API-level checks into our automation harness to increase coverage.
  • Research and implement new automation approaches, staying ahead of industry trends to keep our testing infrastructure cutting-edge.
  • Collaborate with developers to interpret code coverage results and identify strategic areas for new test investment.

Requirements

  • Expertise in at least one major programming language: Java, Python, Javascript, C++, C#, Go, or Rust.
  • Fluency with Data Structures and Algorithms.
  • Experience with design patterns and coding best practices.
  • Proficiency in coding in a language such as C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Javascript, Go, or Rust.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or GitLab to create and manage workflows.
  • Experience in API testing and understanding how to validate data across different layers of an application.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI or GitLab to create and manage workflows.
  • Proven ability to navigate Linux-based systems and troubleshoot complex automation hurdles.

Qualifications

  • A BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent coursework.
  • At least 5 years of experience working deeply with Cypress for web application automation.
  • Experience mentoring QA Engineers on all topics related to automation.
  • Ability to conduct rigorous code reviews for automation specs, ensuring test reliability and execution speed.
  • Experience driving improvements with API testing and integrating API-level checks into automation harnesses.
  • Experience researching and implementing new automation approaches, staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Experience collaborating with developers to interpret code coverage results and identify strategic areas for new test investment.

Pay

The expected salary range for this role is between $131,000 and $191,000. The final offered salary will be dependent upon many factors including the candidate’s experience and skills. The base pay range is subject to change in the future.
