Senior Software Engineer (Teradyne, North Reading)
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and extend software for a large test system that incorporates many levels of software. The role involves designing operating software for capital equipment, factory information systems, and application software. Collaboration with engineers from other disciplines is essential for diagnosing and solving complex system problems. This position is based in North Reading, MA, and requires moderate travel both within the US and to southeast Asia.
Responsibilities
- Design and extend software for a large test system incorporating many levels of software.

- Collaborate with a larger design team around the world.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of software development experience programming in C# .NET on Windows using Visual Studio.
- Solid experience developing distributed and multi-threaded applications.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design.
- Experience in Machine vision is a must, including:
- General knowledge of geometrical optics
- Experience of lenses and lens selection
- Knowledge of computer vision and image processing
- Experience of commercial vision software products is a strong plus
- Knowledge of linear algebra is a strong plus
- Background in semiconductors and/or test equipment industry is a plus.
- Experience in any of the following is a plus: WPF, capital equipment, factory integration, TCP/IP, database programming.
- Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks with multiple deadlines.
- Ability to solve problems through creative and analytical thinking.
- Ability to work with the local team and a design team overseas.
- Ability to grasp new technologies and react to changes in a fast-paced environment.

Pay
The base salary range for this role is $161,700 - $258,800. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Schedule
This position is based in North Reading, MA and requires moderate travel both within the US and to southeast Asia.
