Senior Software Engineer – Python/AI

Job SummaryOur client, a leading airline industry provider, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Agentic System Layer (ASL) team. In this role, you will build and maintain the core platform components that power the company's agentic AI systems, including agent orchestration services, tool registries, execution runtimes, and the APIs and microservices that support LLM integration. The ideal candidate is a solid mid-level to senior engineer who writes clean, testable code and brings genuine curiosity about AI/ML systems. Timelines are tight, so candidates must be able to onboard quickly. Core ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain agent orchestration services, tool registries, and execution runtimesBuild APIs and microservices for LLM integration, prompt management, and agent lifecycle managementImplement observability, logging, and monitoring for agentic workflowsWrite comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure platform reliabilityCollaborate with architects on design decisions and with ML engineers on model integrationContribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment automationParticipate in on-call rotations for production support of the AI platform Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)5+ years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in PythonWorking knowledge of at least one of Java, Go, or TypeScriptHands-on experience building production REST/gRPC APIs and microservicesSolid experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure preferred), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelinesExperience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi)Working experience with LLM integration patterns, prompt engineering, or AI/ML application developmentFamiliarity with orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or similar tools Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, EventBridge)Experience with vector databasesExperience with observability tools (Datadog, Splunk, OpenTelemetry)Experience with agent evaluation frameworksExperience with FastAPI/Flask, async Python, and Redis/caching patternsAirline or travel industry experience Key Competencies & BehaviorsTakes ownership of work and writes clean, well-tested codeCommunicates clearly in code reviews and with cross-functional partnersUnderstands how LLMs work and what agentic patterns look like (deep ML expertise is not required)Knows how to build reliable services around non-deterministic componentsComfortable operating and supporting production systems Work EnvironmentLocation: Fort Worth, TXHybrid 3x week Compensation & BenefitsPay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $35.00 and $51.00 per hour.
