Senior Software Engineer – C# with Security Clearance
Overview
i3 is seeking a Software Engineer with 1-0+ years of professional experience to develop a new digital engineering environment for a government customer. This environment will include virtual testing and deployment capabilities to simulate UX/S platforms for the DoD.
Responsibilities
- Work with an Agile software development team delivering value to a DoD customer in small, incremental iterations.
- Responsible for following pre-defined software safety practices to develop flight critical software, including software architecture reviews, documentation updates, and comprehensive testing of new capabilities.
- Develop software designs using best practices and object-oriented methodologies.
- Routine collaboration with team members in developing system capabilities is expected.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Have a Bachelor of Science degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or the hard sciences.
- Experience in an object-oriented programming language like C#, Java, or C++.
- Be a team player and creative, adaptive, and excited to learn.
- Experience creating automated unit and integration level tests.
- Experience establishing good configuration management practices and responsible for proper code maintenance, merging, and configuration management.
- Experience presenting to customers and conducting demonstrations.
- Experience mentoring and training less experienced team members.
Preferred Experience/Skills
- Prior experience with Agile software development, ideally Extreme Programming (XP).
- Familiarity with Git for software source control and configuration management.
- Experience leading small agile teams and mentoring junior software engineers.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- Experience developing in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Docker and/or Kubernetes deployment strategies.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion.
- Regular and punctual attendance is required.
