About The Role
As a member of our Business Systems Engineering team, you will build or improve tools used daily by Go-to-Market (GTM) teams. Your work will focus on identifying bottlenecks, driving process improvements, and developing technical solutions. The team is the custodian of data relied upon by sales, order, finance, and support teams. We prioritize automation over operation, metrics over anecdotes, iteration over perfection, and proactivity over reactivity.
This role requires you to be onsite at our HQ in San Mateo, CA, five days per week.
Responsibilities
- Engineer and maintain platforms and data pipelines that read, mutate, and write data at scale.
- Determine architecture for systems integrating multiple external vendors and internal systems.
- Collaborate with GTM teams to advise on engineering solutions for business problems.
- Improve operational excellence on existing systems.
- Contribute to the long-term roadmap for maintaining high GTM data quality.
- Use LLMs to evaluate data state and create artifacts for quick user consumption.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on data systems.
- In-depth expertise in distributed systems and data processing.
- Passion for observability and reliability.
- Advanced skill in Python and SQL.
- Willingness and ability to work onsite five days per week.
Bonus: Familiarity with GTM-facing vendors such as ZoomInfo, Outreach, Marketo, Clay, or Rox.

Pay
At Verkada, compensation is determined by factors including primary work location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Employees may also be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, or equity in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs).
Estimated Annual Pay Range: $160,000—$260,000 USD (OTE for full-time employees, including base compensation and commissions where applicable).
