About the Opportunity:The SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER: PLATFORM is responsible for designing and scaling foundational APIs and backend services that power the organization's Risk Cloud platform. This role directly impacts the platform's ability to support expanding enterprise GRC demands by addressing system bottlenecks, optimizing data storage, and ensuring reliable multi-tenant availability. The engineer's work ensures the platform remains scalable, resilient, and high-performing. Responsibilities:Design and develop high-throughput backend services, core platform APIs, and distributed data stores.Implement and maintain robust testing at unit, integration, and service levels.Collaborate with DevOps to enhance cloud infrastructure and automate CI/CD pipelines.Monitor system health and performance using observability tools to identify and resolve bottlenecks.Lead technical design reviews and mentor engineering teams to elevate quality and execution.Utilize AI tools and developer automation to improve workflow efficiency and accelerate feature delivery. Requirements:Minimum 5 years of experience in backend software engineering using Java, Kotlin, or similar JVM languages with Spring Boot.Proven experience in designing and managing high-scale distributed systems and RESTful APIs in AWS cloud environments.Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases, caching systems, and message brokers such as PostgreSQL, Neo4j, Redis, and RabbitMQ.Strong commitment to automated testing and quality assurance practices.Experience leveraging AI coding tools, large language models, or AI agents to enhance software development.Ability to thrive in a remote, collaborative environment with occasional onsite participation. Nice to Have:Familiarity with the organization's technology stack including Java, Kotlin, Python, Spring Boot, Neo4j, Redis, RabbitMQ, Docker, Terraform, and GitLab CI.Understanding of graph database modeling, event-driven architectures, and multi-tenant SaaS designs.Experience with full-stack development, SDLC leadership, continuous integration/deployment, and infrastructure-as-code. Pay Range and Compensation Package:Base salary range of $125,000 to $165,000 per year plus variable compensation, equity, and benefits. Actual compensation will depend on candidate qualifications and experience.
