Senior Back-End Software Engineer

About the role

The Back-End Software Engineer will architect and develop mission-critical backend applications, microservices, and data platforms supporting defense operations and advanced analytics.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with software, data, and systems engineers to deliver secure, scalable solutions using modern development practices, containerized environments, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and maintain Python and C/C++ applications, microservices, and data platforms.
• Collaborate on projects that support defense programs and contribute to Sigmatech Technology Solutions Group (TSG).
• Contribute to the company's long-term technical strategy by influencing emerging capabilities and prototyping advanced solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of software development experience
• Experience with Python and C/C++, SQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle), Git version control, Linux environments, unit, integration, and system testing frameworks and practices, Security+
• Active Secret or TS clearance

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Python and C/C++, database design, API development, and secure software engineering principles.
• Experience with modern development practices, containerized environments, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of security+ certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
