About the role
We are seeking a Senior Social Editor to lead the in-house social clipping process for a fast-paced entertainment-related content team. This role blends creative editing, workflow management, and team coaching to help deliver high-quality short-form video content across leading social platforms.
Responsibilities
- Review clips created by junior editors and provide clear, actionable feedback to improve pacing, framing, hook strength, and overall social fit
- Translate briefs into prioritized editing assignments and manage a daily production queue across multiple titles, brands, and cultural moments
- Monitor production volume and turnaround times, identifying capacity risks early and helping keep workflows on track
- Develop, document, and improve standard operating procedures for an AI-supported clipping workflow
- Partner with publishing teams to ensure assets are delivered smoothly and on time
- Use the AI clipping tool at an advanced level and support the team as a go-to resource for tool usage
- Identify opportunities to improve prompts, shortcuts, and overall workflow efficiency
- Collaborate with product and engineering partners by sharing feedback on tools and workflow improvements
- Create clips directly when needed to support high-volume demands or more complex assignments
- Coach and train Social Editors on platform best practices, editing standards, and effective use of creative tools
- Help establish quality rubrics and lead calibration sessions to maintain consistency across the team
Skills
- 2+ years of experience in social media content creation, video editing, or social publishing
- Strong understanding of short-form video best practices across platforms such as Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and X
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or managing creative contributors
- Proven project management skills with the ability to handle high-volume, fast-moving work
- Hands-on experience using AI-powered creative tools, including automated editing and NLP-based tools
- Strong editorial judgment and the ability to make thoughtful decisions about what to cut and how to cut it
- Solid understanding of social platform engagement drivers and content formats
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to give constructive feedback
Preferred Skills
- Experience in entertainment, media, or streaming content
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro
- Comfort working in a highly collaborative environment with publishing, strategy, product, and engineering partners
- Ability to build effective workflows and improve processes over time
- Experience supporting creative teams through coaching, training, or calibration
Pay
The pay range for this role is $22 – $42 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
