Senior Social Content Producer / Creative Lead
About the role
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Social Content Producer / Creative Lead who understands modern short-form content deeply and can help turn nutrition, weight loss, GLP-1 education, food, motherhood, and everyday life into social content that feels fresh, culturally relevant, entertaining, and unmistakably Ilana. This is not primarily a social media management role.
We want someone who can hear “protecting muscle during weight loss” and immediately see five dramatically different ways to make someone care about it. Someone who understands hooks, curiosity, tension, visual storytelling, pacing, humor, cultural relevance, pattern interrupts, why someone keeps watching, why someone sends a Reel to a friend, and why certain content creates followers while other content simply creates views.
Equally important: we do not want fearmongering, manufactured outrage, misinformation, or fake controversy. The creative challenge is: how do we make responsible nutrition content feel bold?
What you’ll actually do
- Study Ilana’s existing content and performance, and identify what has historically worked and what hasn’t
- Develop attention-stopping concepts from topics provided by Ilana and the team, and independently bring new concepts, formats, and recurring series to the table
- Research emerging hooks, storytelling structures, editing styles, and cultural trends, looking well outside nutrition (entertainment, food media, comedy, reality TV, DTC, creator culture)
- Turn approved concepts into simple shoot cards: hook, 3 beats, visual, CTA
- Plan efficient shoots, direct Ilana on camera, develop shot lists, capture reusable B-roll
- Work closely with editors on pacing, cuts, on-screen copy, sound, and pattern interrupts
- Review performance weekly and turn winners into intelligent variations
- Help build a recognizable social creative language, so someone sees the first few seconds and thinks: “This feels like Ilana.”
This role is also strategic
One of your first responsibilities is to independently study the account and help answer:
- What should Ilana become famous for on social?
- Which 3–5 content territories should she own?
- What should we aggressively repeat?
- What should we stop doing entirely?
We want someone with an opinion.
What “edgy” means to us
Creative tension, not controversy for its own sake. There is a difference between “Here are three sources of protein” and “Your appetite disappeared. Your protein probably did too.” Between “Maintaining muscle is important during weight loss” and “The scale is dropping. But what actually left?”
The nutrition underneath must stay responsible and evidence-based. The packaging needs to make someone curious enough to hear it. Before we make anything, we should be able to answer:
- Why would someone stop, keep watching, finish, and share it?
- Why is Ilana uniquely credible saying it?
- Could any wellness creator have posted this? If yes, the concept isn’t finished.
How we work + the rhythm
- Ilana should never have to process hundreds of ideas. The team handles the complexity behind the scenes; she receives 5–8 strong, ready-to-shoot concepts at a time.
- We think in three buckets: TALK (direct to camera), DO (cooking, shopping, comparing, demonstrating), and CAPTURE (family, motherhood, behind the scenes, real life). Part of your job is knowing which ideas belong where.
- Approximately 20–25 hours per week, with 1–2 in-person production/shoot days per week in Los Angeles.
- The goal: a small number of focused, organized, fun production sessions that generate a meaningful amount of great content.
Who we’re looking for
You may come from creator content, entertainment, food media, social-first advertising, consumer brands, DTC, TikTok/Reels/Shorts production, or an agency with exceptional social-first work. You do not need to be a nutrition expert. Ilana is the nutrition expert. Your job is to make people want to hear what she has to say.
You have exceptional short-form instincts, strong visual taste, hands-on production experience, comfort directing on-camera talent, a sophisticated understanding of hooks and retention, the ability to explain WHY something worked, and enough conviction to tell us when something isn’t good enough yet.
This is probably not for you if:
- Your primary strength is scheduling posts
- You think trend research means finding trending audio
- You want Ilana reading finished scripts
- You only study wellness creators
- Your answer to boring nutrition content is exaggerated medical claims
Compensation + 90-day trial
- Independent contractor (1099) role, paid hourly.
- First 90 days: $70/hour, approximately 20–25 hours/week
- If we mutually continue: $80/hour ongoing, with potential to transition into a full-time role
The 90-day period is intentional. Creative chemistry matters enormously in this role.
