About the Role
This customer support opportunity in Operations is an excellent chance to join the Retail Organization, which sells annuity products to customers while driving organic growth for Talcott. The selected candidate will deliver superior customer service to valued customers, contract owners, and financial advisors. Responsibilities include executing customer requests, educating partners on annuity products, supporting agent onboarding, annuity policy issuance, money movement, handling inbound customer calls, and processing written requests. This role offers a hybrid arrangement based in Hartford, CT, with remote work considered. The position requires 10% annual travel to the Hartford office and follows a schedule of 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate professional diplomacy and deliver a positive customer service experience for inbound calls with customers, contract owners, and financial advisors.
- Successfully execute customer requests while navigating a fast-paced structured environment.
- Support the processing of written requests on an ad-hoc basis.
- Demonstrate active listening and critical thinking skills to quickly assess customer requests and leverage online resources to provide appropriate solutions.
Qualifications
This position may be filled as either a Sr. Service Specialist or Service Consultant, commensurate with the candidate’s expertise.
Senior Service Specialist Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience in the financial services industry.
- Working knowledge of annuities, 401k products, life insurance, mutual funds, or stock market activity.
- Demonstrated experience navigating multiple applications and dual monitors.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated capacity to develop positive and productive customer relationships.
- Ability to multi-task (e.g., type and talk simultaneously while navigating multiple screens).
- Proven success working in a fast-paced and structured environment.
- Ability to navigate multiple programs and effectively use online resources.
- Knowledge of PEGA, FAST, Hexure, and FireLight is a plus.
Service Consultant Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of customer service experience in the financial services industry.
- Expert knowledge of annuities, 401k products, and life insurance products.
- Demonstrated experience navigating multiple applications and dual monitors.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated capacity to develop positive and productive customer relationships.
- Ability to multi-task (e.g., type and talk simultaneously while navigating multiple screens).
- Proven success working in a fast-paced and structured environment.
- Ability to navigate multiple programs and effectively use online resources.
- Experience with PEGA, FAST, Hexure, and FireLight is a plus.
Pay
This range represents the minimum and maximum annual base salary reasonably expected for this role at the time of posting. Actual base pay may vary and could be above or below the listed range, based on factors including experience, competence, and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role. The base pay is one component of Talcott’s total annual compensation, which may also include annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and recognition.
