Senior Service Center Technician
This Senior Service Center Technician recruitment is an Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) internal recruitment. Only applications from current, qualified OCFA personnel will be accepted. Your application MUST include all current, relevant OCFA work experience to be considered for this position.
About the role
Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of semi-skilled and skilled activities, including mechanical repair and fabrication for specialized fire equipment; performs a variety of specialized warehousing activities; and performs related duties as assigned.
The Senior Service Center Technician is the third level in a five-level Service Center Technician series and is the advanced-level classification responsible for performing the most complex work assigned. Incumbents regularly work on tasks which are varied and complex, requiring considerable discretion and independent judgment. Positions rely on experience and judgment to perform assigned duties and ensure efficient servicing of the assigned program area. Assignments are given with general guidelines, and incumbents are responsible for establishing objectives, timelines, and methods to deliver services and complete assignments. Work is typically reviewed upon completion for soundness, appropriateness, and conformity to policy.
This class is distinguished from the Service Center Lead in that the latter performs advanced-level work and provides training and lead direction over Service Center staff. Receives general supervision from the Service Center Supervisor and exercises technical and functional direction over less experienced staff.
