The Senior SEO Manager will increase Coursera's visibility across search engines, AI-powered search experiences, and emerging discovery platforms. The role combines SEO strategy with hands-on execution and cross-functional work across Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Content.
About the Role
The Senior SEO Manager will define and execute organic discovery strategies across web search, AI search, and emerging platforms. They will own and prioritize a roadmap covering content, technical, and programmatic SEO. They will partner with SEO Content, Organic Social, and Paid Media to improve discovery based on user intent and business goals. They will promote SEO best practices across Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Content teams. They will lead technical SEO initiatives involving indexing, site performance, structured data, crawl optimization, and site architecture. They will establish reporting for visibility, traffic, engagement, and conversion, then communicate insights to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 7+ years managing in-house SEO programs for large-scale websites, marketplaces, or platforms.
- Experience leading technical SEO initiatives with engineering teams.
- Experience with platforms such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush, Looker, Tableau, or Google Analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and deliver measurable SEO impact.
- Experience optimizing for discovery surfaces beyond web search is preferred.
- Experience with AI-driven search analysis and optimization tools is preferred.
- Experience with large content catalogs or programmatic page generation is preferred.
- Experience with international SEO, localization, SQL, Python, or BI tools is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
US Zone 3: $138,800-$173,500
US Zone 4: $129,200-$161,500
Pay is based on location, experience, and role level.
