Essential Duties, Functions And Responsibilities
- Leads the security officer team by providing guidance and recommending changes to promote efficient processes.
- Demonstrate organization and management skills by creating or adjusting duty schedules.
- Patrols FDIHB property and facilities to prevent theft or damage to hospital property, equipment, tools, supplies, and other real or personal property.
- Affords assistance in evaluating the performance of the security officers.
- Affords assistance in training security officers.
- Affords assistance in conducting surveillance video review as requested by security leadership.
- Leads security officers through assignment of work and adjusts as necessary.
- Participates in security management meetings and represents security in relevant meetings.
- Must be able to take guidance and direction from all security supervisors or designee.
- Maintains filing system.
- Provides and/or implements security and security protocols for all assigned facilities and information systems.
- Maintains all required certifications and participates in mandatory security training.
- Performs morgue duties and assists in transference of the deceased to the FDIHB morgue.
- Collaborates in coordinating, controlling, monitoring personnel access to controlled areas ensuring individuals are authorized and credentialed to access designated areas.
- Conducts assigned duties of the position with integrity while making ethical decisions.
- Receives and responds to telephone inquiries from vendors and internal customers.
- Prepares monthly reports for use by the Security Department.
- Audits all documents received for completeness and accuracy.
- Completes daily activity reports by the end of shift, also incident reports by the end of shift or within twenty-four (24) hours.
- Prepares and extracts data reports from Security Access Control Management System, including security officer patrolling tracking system.
- Recommends process improvements to security supervisor as necessary to promote efficiency.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: Three (3) years’ work experience as a security officer in a Healthcare Facility or Criminal Justice environment, including one (1) year direct lead or Officer-in-Charge experience.
- Education: Associate’s Degree in a related field or two (2) additional related experience.
