Senior Security Installation Specialist
About the role
Our Security Installation Specialists play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. This involves ensuring the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-art integrated security systems (IP cameras/CCTV, alarm sensors, access control devices, and software platforms) are handled timely and accurately. This position supports our Solutions team, which handles new construction and retrofit projects in commercial buildings such as hospitals, universities, data centers, and industrial facilities. In addition to the primary responsibilities, this position acts as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to less experienced Specialists, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team.
Responsibilities
- Participate in Operational Testing, Verification, and Acceptance
- Run routine reports to review system operation
- Participate in final inspection and testing
- Support customer acceptance
- Assist with customer training on system operations
- Complete and submit routine written reports
- Identify code and non-conformance issues and make recommendations for system installation
- Conduct Project Site Communication and Coordination
- May support others in the scheduling of trade contractors to coordinate start-up services as needed
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience installing, programming, start-up, and commissioning integrated electronic security systems (e.g., IP cameras/CCTV, access control, intrusion/alarm systems)
- 2+ years of experience working with commercial building projects, including new construction and/or retrofit environments (e.g., hospitals, universities, data centers, industrial facilities)
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot system hardware, software, and basic networking issues
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Understanding of network components, workstation and server operating system management, IP addressing and subnetting, IP video network transmission, factors that impact video rates and quality, as well as basic switch, router, and firewall principles
- Be able to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, working above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; differentiate types/colors of wire, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Must be willing and available to participate in an on-call rotation with other Specialists
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 8+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of large-scale integrated security systems
- Massachusetts Class D Electrical License
- Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

Pay
The pay range for this position is $70,000 - $113,280 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
