Senior Security Engineer, Threat Detection and Response

About the role

The Senior Security Engineer will play a critical role in the Threat Detection and Response team, focusing on advanced threat hunting, incident response, and security operations center (SOC) activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis of security events to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and maintain automated detection systems to proactively identify and mitigate threats.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve overall security posture and incident response capabilities.
• Support the implementation and management of security tools and platforms.
• Document findings and best practices for future reference and training purposes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, including threat hunting and incident response.
• Experience with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, or similar.
• Knowledge of common attack vectors and techniques, including but not limited to phishing, malware, and social engineering.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or other scripting languages for automation.
• Experience with cloud-based security solutions and services.

Qualifications

• CISSP certification preferred.
• Experience with threat intelligence platforms and data analytics.
• Hands-on experience with network forensics and incident response.
