Senior Security & Alarm Service Technician
Job Summary
The Integrated Fire and Security Solutions Coral Springs, FL branch is seeking experienced Senior Security & Alarm Service Technicians to join our team! This role focuses on the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of advanced security systems - including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection (IDS), with additional exposure to fire alarm systems. The service area is primarily the Miami-Dade region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and execute installation of security systems (CCTV, access control, IDS) and assist with fire alarm systems as needed.
- Interpret blueprints and update as-built documentation accurately.
- Ensure all equipment and materials are staged and ready for installation.
- Identify and resolve field modifications or scope gaps to maintain project integrity.
- Verify compliance with NEC, NFPA, and local codes for security and fire systems.
- Conduct on-site inspections to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices through training and certifications.
- Maintain clear communication with internal teams, contractors, and clients for smooth project execution.
- Mentor junior technicians and provide technical guidance on complex installations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in the low-voltage industry, with a strong focus on security systems (CCTV, access control, IDS).
- Experience programming and configuring access control systems required.
- Fire alarm experience is a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical certifications preferred.
- Strong knowledge of security and fire system codes and standards.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Valid Florida Fire Alarm License (FASA/BASA) or ability to obtain it.
- Understanding of NEC and NFPA requirements.
- Proficiency with technology tools and system programming.
- Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver’s license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS degree or Technical School Certification in electronics, security systems, or related field.
- Manufacturer certifications for major security systems.
- NICET certification for fire alarm systems.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, movement around the office or job site, and operation of standard equipment. Physical activities can include reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Field positions may involve heavy lifting, working in varying climates (including outdoor conditions), construction or low-voltage environments, and exposure to dust, noise, or confined spaces. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required. Some roles may require travel.
